# Rey Pricing Plans: Compare Starter, Grow, and Scale

## What Is a Monthly Active User (MAU)?

A monthly active user (MAU) is a unique user who opens or interacts with your app at least once during a given calendar month. Rey counts each distinct user only once per month regardless of how many sessions or actions they have. Your MAU count resets at the start of every calendar month.

<Tip>
  During development and testing, activity from the [Rey app](/publishing/preview#device-preview) does not count toward your MAU limit — so you can iterate freely without burning through your quota.

## How to Start Your Free Trial

Every new Rey account automatically begins a 14-day free trial on the Starter plan — no credit card required.

## How to Upgrade or Change Your Plan

You can upgrade, downgrade, or switch plans at any time directly from the Rey dashboard.

    Select the **Billing** tab to view your current plan and available options.

    Click **Upgrade** or **Change plan**, select your desired tier, and confirm. Changes take effect immediately.

## Billing and Cancellation

Rey bills on a **monthly cycle** starting from the date you activate a paid plan. You can cancel your subscription at any time from account settings — there are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees. After cancellation, your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.

  If you cancel during your free trial, your account will revert to a limited state at the end of the trial period. Export or publish your app before your trial expires to avoid any interruption.
